Add MP3 sounds to your projects with this well-designed VS1003B (similar to VS1053B) breakout board. The VS1003B can decode audio formats such as MP3, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, WMA, MIDI, FLAC, WAV (PCM and ADPCM). It can also record audio in both PCM (WAV) and compressed Ogg Vorbis!
This breakout board allows you to incorporate audio into your projects and do things like adjust bass, treble, and volume digitally. It also includes additional GPIO pins that can be used for lighting up small LEDs or reading buttons.
In most projects, the VS1003B is configured as a simple audio player under control of a microcontroller like the ones on Arduino boards. Typically, the microcontroller reads from its flash memory or an external SD card (recommended) where users have loaded audio files in the supported formats, and then sends it to the VS1003B for playback through the CODEC via the SPI interface.
The VS1003B has a built-in amplifier, and the board carries a 3.5mm audio jack so you can connect headphones or to listen to the decoded sounds! You can also connect a speaker, but you'll need an external audio amplifier that's able to drive it.
